Although Covid restrictions have eased, we take the safety of our customers and staff seriously. You do not need to wear a mask to enter the facility, but please respect those, including members of staff, who may choose to do so. We continue to provide hand sanitiser throughout the facility and practice enhanced cleaning around poolside and in the changing rooms.
IF YOU HAVE COVID SYMPTOMS AND/ OR HAVE TESTED POSITIVE FOR COVID, PLEASE DO NOT VISIT THE LIDO. CONTACT US IMMEDIATELY TO REARRANGE YOUR BOOKING.
All sessions are timed and can be pre-booked. Online booking is the easiest way to book your swims up until 30 mins before each session begins. You can still book even after the session has started, as long as there is capacity, by calling the office. You may also turn up and pay on the door, but if the session is full you won’t be admitted, so we recommend booking ahead.
We will be booking up to 2 weeks ahead, and the new week’s timetable will go on sale online at 9am each Sunday morning. If you prefer not to book online, give us a call or email us, and our friendly office staff will help you.
Please note the timetable may change from week to week. Check the website for the latest version. The capacity of each session is detailed on the booking page.
ARRIVING AT THE LIDO
Please wait outside the doors at reception for the beginning of your session. You will be greeted at the entrance and your booking checked off by a member of staff. If you have not pre-booked, you will need to queue until ticket holders have been admitted. Everyone buying tickets for The Lido will need to have an account with us. This is very simple to do online, and you only need to do it the first time you visit. If you visited us in 2021, you should already have an account! We recommend you set up an account before visiting, even if you are paying on the door, as it saves time for everybody.
You can arrive at any time during your session; don’t worry if you are running late.
CHANGING ROOMS AND LOCKERS
Our changing rooms and showers will be open and accessed from poolside, although you are welcome to arrive beach-ready or change on the lawn if you prefer not to use the changing rooms. Lockers are available in the changing rooms, operated by a key which must be obtained from reception by payment of a £1 deposit. Please return your key after use.
You may swim for the entire duration of your timed session but you must leave the pool at the end of it. There are breaks between sessions to allow for cleaning. If you are using the café after your swim, you are welcome to stay at the facility until you have finished your refreshments.
CHILD ADMISSION POLICY
All children under the age of 8 must be accompanied INTO THE WATER by a parent or guardian, or another responsible person aged 16+, at a ratio of 2 children: 1 adult.
If your children are under 5 we advise a ratio of 1:1 where possible.
Any children who are weak or non-swimmers, even if they are older than 8, must wear suitable buoyancy aids, stay in close contact with the supervising adult and swim in the shallow end at all times.
Please remember that lifeguards are not babysitters and have responsibility for everyone in the pool. Do not assume that you can leave your children in the water in their care.
Parents/ guardians must ensure their children wear swim nappies as required. These are available to purchase from reception.
SWIMWEAR & EQUIPMENT
All swimwear is allowed including board shorts, rash vests and wetsuits, but not thongs.
Please dress suitably for a family environment.
Snorkels and masks are not allowed. We also do not allow mermaid tails.
You may wear flippers for training in adult sessions only and by prior consent of the lifeguard.
You may bring your own swimming aids such as woggles and floats, and small inflatables for play. We also have a supply of floats which we can lend out. If the pool is getting busy, the lifeguard may ask you to remove larger floats and inflatables from the water. We sell a small range of goggles and swimming aids at reception, but no swimwear.
Sorry no dogs can be brought onto site (except assistance dogs). Except for the dog swim!
The Lido has a small car park which fills up rapidly in hot weather. Customers are advised to use the free parking in town and take the short walk up to the pool.
You will be able to take photographs at the designated photo spot only. If you take photos or film at any other location, the staff will politely ask you to stop.
The Lido café is open every day from 9.30am to 5.15pm, serving a delicious range of hot and cold drinks and snacks. You are welcome to stay and use the café at the end of your swim session. You may also bring your own picnic to The Lido to eat on the lawn (no glass please).
No alcohol may be brought in or consumed on the premises during public sessions.
No smoking or vaping is allowed on the premises.
The Lido is fully accessible, with a disabled hoist and a private changing room. Please contact us at the time of booking if you have particular access needs, so that we can be ready to welcome you. Any swimmer requiring the hoist, or with severely restricted mobility, should bring a carer or companion to swim with them. This person would be required to assist the swimmer in the unlikely event of an evacuation of the pool or facility.
We do not offer a discounted disabled ticket but we do offer a carer’s discount; please contact the office when booking.
