(while the below is still current, please also click here for additional info about our covid-19 measures)

All children under the age of 8 years MUST be accompanied by a responsible adult (16+). The adult MUST enter the pool with the child and maintain a close watch over them at all times.

Any children who are weak or non-swimmers should wear suitable buoyancy aids, stay in close contact with the supervising adult and swim in the shallow end at all times.

RATIO 2:1 2 children under 8 may be supervised by 1 adult

If both children are under 5 we recommend they stay in the toddler pool with the adult.

Parents must ensure that children wear swim nappies as needed. They are available to purchase from reception.

On certain days when we are low on staff it may be necessary to keep the baby pool closed. You are very welcome to swim with your toddler in the main pool, however if the toddler pool is crucial to your visit, we recommend phoning ahead to check that it is open.

All bathers MUST shower before entering the pool.

Please DO NOT APPLY SUNCREAM DIRECTLY BEFORE ENTERING THE POOL. It will not be absorbed by your skin, will wash off and cloud our water, resulting in the need for higher chlorine levels.

Apply suncream at least 15 minutes before swimming to be kind to your skin and our pool!

All swimwear is allowed including board shorts, but NO thongs.
Wetsuits and rash vests are welcome in the pool.
Snorkels and masks are NOT allowed. You may wear flippers ONLY in adult sessions with the prior consent of the lifeguard.

Swimmers using the slide MUST be able to swim a length of the pool unaided (25m). Please listen at all times to the lifeguards who are working to ensure your safety on and around the slide.

You may take photos or film in The Lido for your own use if you complete a photography permission form at reception upon arrival.

The Lido café sells a good range of hot and cold food and drinks and ice creams.
You are also welcome to bring your own picnic but PLEASE DO NOT BRING ANY GLASS INTO THE LIDO.
NO ALCOHOL may be brought in or consumed on the premises during public sessions.

On busy days we may reach capacity in the pool and pool area. In such circumstances we admit customers on a one-out, one-in basis, and you may have to queue. The staff will do their best to accommodate you as soon as possible, and to keep you informed of your likely wait time. Please be patient with us!

It is our policy not to operate timed sessions at The Lido, so once you are in you can stay as long as you wish within the public swim session.

We sell basic goods at reception including goggles, suncream, armbands, ear and nose plugs, floats and woggles. We also sell swim nappies.

Lockers are available in both male and female changing rooms and operated by a key obtained with a £1 deposit from reception.

Both male and female changing rooms are fully accessible and both have family changing cubicles. We also have a unisex changing room with accessible toilet.

The Lido has level access to the pool, changing rooms and café. We have a hoist at the pool.

Wheelchair users and people with restricted mobility are advised to call ahead so that staff can prepare to welcome them.

We have a small car park which rapidly fills up in hot weather. Customers are advised to use the free parking in the town and take the short walk up to the pool. We have disabled bays but please call ahead to advise us of your visit.
