Lido fan and local legend, Nathan Phelps of Whistlers Chipping Norton is getting back on track for his marathon swim, despite illness and set backs to his traing regime. Swimming a marathon can not be taken lightly and the training for it can be brutal, so please give Nathan a much needed boost by visiting his fundraising page (details below) and donating whatever you can afford; or by turning up to support him – or having a swim alongside him on the day (and hopefully staying for a BBQ afterwards 🍔!).
🏊🏽♂️ Nathan’s big swim takes place on Sunday 28 May 🏊🏽♂️
As you can see from the stats in the image below, there was a big drop off in January when he was unable to swim due to illness and he is now struggling to get back up to speed.
Nathan who was not ‘a swimmer’ and has had no official lessons or training, wants to raise awareness of the facilities on offer in his home town and to get more people in to swimming. The benefits from swimming regularly really are incredible, not just in terms of fitness but also for mental health and relaxation and Chipping Norton is lucky enough to have two swimming pools, both indoors and outdoors. Quite a feat in these tough times!
