NATHAN’S MARATHON SWIM, FAMILY DAY & BBQ
Lido friend and Whistlers’ chef Nathan Phelps is swimming a marathon – that’s 10K or 400 lengths of our pool without stopping!! – on Sunday 28 May, raising vital funds for The Lido in sponsorship and donations.
Come and support him on the day, from 10am to 2.30pm, simply to cheer him on and enjoy some refreshments from the BBQ and café, or even to swim alongside him in our own community marathon, with all your lengths added to our grand community total.
If you’d like to swim – whether you can swim a mile or just a couple of lengths – your personal achievement is important and we’ll add it to our community total. And if you’d like to pledge to donate something to The Lido for each length you swim, that would be amazing!
There is no lower or upper age limit for swimmers, but you must be able to swim 25m unaided, and if you’re under 8 you must swim with an adult.
Entrance is free for this event, but you need to book ahead in the normal way, telling us how many adults, children and OAPs are coming. You can book online, over the phone or in person.
3 lanes will be open for swimming lengths from 10am. When you arrive, come to register as a swimmer, and you’ll be given a place in the pool as soon as we can fit you in. Booking for this event opens at 9am on Saturday 13 May.
You can see Nathan training at The Lido every morning in the lead-up to his marathon swim. He is working unbelievably hard and it’s not too late to donate to him and speed him on his way; just visit his fundraising page at
