Starting on Wednesday 16th June, then every Wednesday until 14th July, we are delighted to offer Tai Chi classes here at The Lido, 1.15-2.15pm followed by an optional swim 2.15-3.00pm.
Instructed by John Hickson, these sessions are suitable for complete beginners upwards, age 16+.
From early years to 100+ years, Tai Chi has something to offer everyone. Physical movement and meditation practice are both elements of the class; it’s a wonderful way to maintain health and fitness, deal with stress and enhance feelings of happiness.
Class is held outdoors on the Lido lawn in a peaceful natural environment, and it can be done seated if you need to rest or stabilise yourself.
These classes are intended to give everyone access and insight into Tai Chi and its benefits. You can come for a one-off taster session, or rebook and come to a series of classes. Each class is a complete experience in itself, but the more you attend the more insight and benefit is possible. Whether you’re looking for a new kind of exercise class, a gentle add-on to a swim, or are interested in starting a new journey with Tai Chi, these sessions will respond to your needs.
Come wearing loose comfortable clothing which allow you free movement. Wear flat shoes (preferably with a flat sole) or plimsolls, or work barefoot. Bring a bottle of water. Weather conditions can be changeable… you may need warm layers of clothing; you may need sun cream!
Please note that if you would like the option to swim afterwards, our changing rooms and showers are currently closed. Wear your swim gear under your clothes if possible and be prepared to go home in a towel or change on the lawn at the end of the session.
£12 PER SESSION INCLUDING SWIM – book here.
